Madison Smith

My name is Madison Smith, and I'm a Junior majoring in Agriculture with a concentration in Animal Science and I am from Newellton, LA. My journey led me to Southern University A&M College in Baton Rouge, LA, where I've had the privilege of meeting numerous inspiring individuals within the US Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS). Engaging with these professionals, attending workshops, and hearing about their unwavering dedication ignited my passion for wildlife conservation.

Throughout my college experience, I've been captivated by the intersection of animal science and conservation. My aspiration to become a future leader in wildlife conservation stems from my desire to contribute to the field while inspiring fellow conservationists, particularly those from underrepresented backgrounds.

My ultimate goal is to acquire the necessary knowledge and skills to excel in USFWS. By becoming a part of this esteemed agency, I aim to actively contribute to their mission of protecting our natural resources and biodiversity. Through dedication, perseverance, and a genuine passion for wildlife, I am determined to make a meaningful impact in the conservation community and beyond.
