Jenevieve Joseph is a junior majoring in sociology and anthropology at Spelman College from San Diego. Jenevieve is a UNCF Mellon Mays Undergraduate Fellow dedicated to transforming the academy through environmental pedagogy. This past summer, she researched Oscarville, Ga., in an environmental justice partnership with the University of Minnesota. From this experience, she began her thesis, “Black & Green: Black Students’ Role and Relationship to the Environmental Movement.” She is a member of local environmental organizations in the historic west end of Atlanta and organizes monthly community clean-ups and outdoor education events. Jenevieve is incredibly excited to work in Anchorage, Alaska, this summer as a part of the USFWS team.
