Hispanic Access Director of Forestry Honored with The Wildlife Society’s Diversity Award for 2024

Hispanic Access Foundation is excited to announce Amaris Ribeiro has been selected to receive The Wildlife Society's Diversity Award for 2024. This distinguished honor recognizes her exceptional efforts in promoting diversity within the natural resource professions, with a particular focus on wildlife conservation and education.


“I am incredibly honored to receive The Wildlife Society’s 2024 Diversity Award,” said Amaris Ribeiro. “This recognition is a testament to the importance of building a more inclusive and diverse future in wildlife conservation. I’m excited to continue working alongside dedicated individuals and communities to ensure that everyone, regardless of background, has the opportunity to contribute to and benefit from the preservation of our natural resources.”


The Diversity Award celebrates individuals who have made significant strides in fostering inclusivity and equity in wildlife conservation, contributing to a more diverse and representative field. With nearly 20 years of experience in conservation, environmental education, and STEM. Ribeiro is an environmental change maker having worked with nonprofits, government, informal science centers, and the outdoors.

Ribeiro will be formally recognized at the TWS2024 Annual Conference during the plenary session on Sunday, October 20, 2024, in Baltimore, Maryland.
