DeSantis has several years of experience developing teams, revamping processes, and leading software implementations and has spent his entire accounting career in the nonprofit sector. He has a deep understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), federal grant regulations, and financial management software and tools.
“I am passionate about working for an organization that works hard to make a positive impact in our society,” said DeSantis. “Helping others is what motivated me to work in the nonprofit sector, what inspires my work. I find Hispanic Access’ work to help Latinos throughout the nation access opportunities that help improve their lives, communities, and the nation as a whole, truly admirable and inspirational.”
DeSantis will prepare and oversee the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements, including the income statement, statement of financial position, statement of cash flows, and restricted net asset schedules; assist in the development of the annual budget in collaboration with program managers and leadership; and coordinate grant application processes, ensuring accurate budgeting and financial documentation.
“Steve has very strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills,” said Maite Arce, president and CEO of Hispanic Access. “He has the knowledge and experience to help us streamline our budgeting, expense tracking, and reporting processes, which will enable us to be more efficient in our operation as an organization.”
