HAF was founded by Maite Arce, who came to this country with her parents when she was 8 years old because they believed the U.S. offered opportunities to create their own economic success. They settled in California and navigated their new world sufficiently to find jobs, become U.S. citizens and contribute to their new country. Years later, Maite decided to build that bridge for Latinos to outdoor places, great jobs, leadership development and financial empowerment that her family lacked. And thus, she founded HAF in 2010 believing that with the right connections, information and guidance, Latinos could connect with opportunities and economic success.
Whether we are helping Latinos build their financial literacy, explore new workforce opportunities, become environmental stewards or advocate for one’s health, trust and a commitment to equity is at the core of everything we do. Our initiatives, programs and grassroots outreach efforts are aimed at empowering and inspiring individuals to improve themselves and their families and, in turn, strengthen their communities and their country.
