Category: News Releases

Hispanic Access Foundation is pleased to announce the hiring of Karina Meza, who will serve as the Communications Manager. She will plan and implement HAF’s communications strategy, which includes drafting and submitting press releases, conducting media outreach, managing our social media channels, and executing strategic marketing.

“As a Mexican-American immigrant, it has always been my dream to be involved in helping the Latino community,” says Meza. “I’m honored and excited to join an organization that strives to empower latinos, improve their lives and elevate their voices in fields where they are underrepresented.”

Meza is fluent in Spanish with the ability to translate communications materials. She also brings more than four years of communications management experience of developing and implementing communications strategies, media pitches, media relations, strategic social media, media kits, and strategic marketing.

“Karina’s background and experience will be instrumental in supporting HAF’s communications needs,” says Maite Arce, president and CEO of Hispanic Access Foundation. “Her commitment and dedication to helping the latino community aligns with HAF’s values to improve the lives of Latinos and create an equitable society.”

Prior to joining Hispanic Access Foundation, Meza was an Account Manager at a D.C.-area public relations firm, where she oversaw numerous clients’ marketing and public relations needs. Meza graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications with a concentration in Public Relations. During her time at the University of Maryland, Meza was selected to participate in the PRSSA Bateman Case Study competition. She researched, planned, implemented and evaluated a month-long integrated public relations campaign to increase mental health awareness. Karina also holds an Associate’s degree from Montgomery College.
