Latino Conservation Week celebrates and promotes the Latino community’s connection to the land and environment. The week was created to gather Latinos within their communities through several events in each state such as hiking, roundtables, and workshops. Local activities are hosted to promote conservation efforts and empower the Latino community to protect our water, air, and land.
According to Maite Arce, President, and CEO of Hispanic Access Foundation, “Latino Conservation Week helps break down barriers for Latino communities to access public lands and waters, encourages new opportunities for engagement, and inspires the next generation of environmental stewards.”

Take Action!
Latino/a/x communities suffer from excessive pollution and health burden due to outsized exposure to environmental degradation and climate crisis. 2010 census data indicated that nearly one out of every two Latinos lives in the country’s top 25 ozone-polluted cities, and two out of five live within 30 miles of a power plant. The voice of the communities at the frontlines of climate change must be heard by national decision-makers. The platform created by Latino Conservation Week raises and highlights the voice of the Latino community in the decision-making process.
It’s time for Congress to step up and help put the country squarely on the path to dramatically reducing emissions by 2030. This means passing crucial legislation to protect communities from climate-fueled disasters and providing much-needed investments in natural infrastructure, clean water, clean air, and clean energy. By doing so, our country will have the resources to recover threatened and endangered species, protect wildlife refuges, and strengthen the health of our forests and native grasslands.
Urge passage of climate legislation to address climate and save our lands, waters, and wildlife.
