I feel blessed to have the opportunity to have this view at my disposal and I am sad that it is coming to an end. While watching the sunset I couldnt help but think how lucky and privileged I am to get the opportunity to see this clear view, and I want all future generations to have the opportunity to see views like this throught the U.S. and throughout the world. This further supports my passion to help conserve, protect, and restore. Throughout this internship, I've had the opportunity to spend a lot of time out in nature, and it has been such a great learning and joyful experience to get to see so many different species in an area. I have also learned so much as a biologist which only motivates me to learn more and more to fully understand how ecosystems function, and how each and every species takes part in that.
As my last days are coming to an end, I have a bitter sweet feeling. Athough I am happy to finally go home and see my family and my cat Luna, I can't help but feel a bit of sadness that this is all coming to an end. I really feels like time has flown by, and thats probably because I've had a great time. It has been different from my expecatations, but so amazing in so many different ways. I am so glad to have met and gotten to work with amazing biologists, and Im glad I got to see what biologist work actually looks like out in the field. Coming from a university who's bio majors are mainly pre-med, it has been such an amazing experience to be around other folks that have the same interests and passions for conservation as I do.
Meeting and hearing members from the different programs within the Fish and Wildlife Service has been a trully inspirational, motivational, and influential experience. Besides learning about how the agency's different programs function which was very interesting to learn, I also got to learn so much about professionalism in the workplace. Everyone has been so supportive, shared valuable wisdom, and has made this a great learning experience.
Altough its sad that this experience is ending, I am excited to start my last year of college and finally put my learnings to use!
