Veronica Torres is so excited to be joining the Hispanic Access Foundation as a MANO Program Associate! Born and raised in Newark, NJ , Veronica still resides there with her large and loving Puerto Rican family. Veronica graduated from Rutgers University with her B.A. in Justice Studies with minors in English and Social Justice this past May. Throughout her time at Rutgers she focused her time on understanding the systems in place that have historically and presently affect BIPOCs. This passion and interest led her to complete her original research for her thesis on the Role of Faith and Religion while Incarcerated, focusing on the positive effects faith exploration has on successful rehabilitation and reintegration.

Veronica is excited to continue working with young adults to help bridge the gap of access and opportunity for all passionate and dedicated individuals!

Being able to elevate voices wherever I can and become a dependable figure in a person's life is extremely rewarding. “In my spare time I love to be creative in any way I can, whether it be building Legos, painting, or my newest artistic endeavor, oil pastels. Being creative is my way to relax and let go!”

"My favorite book that I've read is "The Silent Patient" by Alex Michaelides, a psychological thriller and murder mystery hybrid. Highly recommend if you want an intriguing and captivating read!”

“My mom is my biggest inspiration in my life. She is the most hardworking, passionate and inspiring woman I know. I am so beyond blessed to have my mom and bestie in one.”
