Why he works for Hispanic Access…
“I believe in our vision. I first found out about Hispanic Access in the summer of 2017. I was pastoring a church that had a very active youth group. I was approached by a Hispanic Access staff member and asked if I was interested in taking my youth group deep sea fishing; I was told the organization would fund the whole trip! I couldn't believe it. I was in shock that there was an organization out there that believed in the next generation of inner-city young Latinos so much that they were willing to financially invest in them. That summer, we took a group of 50 kids deep sea fishing, and it was a life-changing experience for many. After that, I joined the Hispanic Access Por la Creación faith leadership team. I truly believe in the life-changing work Hispanic Access is doing to help countless people. It is an honor to work here.”
In his spare time…
“Spending time with my family is number one. I also love going to church and volunteering in my local community. I also love to go hiking, fishing, camping, and snorkeling in the great outdoors. Lastly, I love to coach boxing and to work out in my home gym.”
His favorite book…
“The Book of Genesis in the Bible. In there, we find the story of Noah. He was the very first conservation associate—God used him in preserving life here on this planet.”
A person he finds inspirational…
“Without a doubt, Martin Luther King Jr. He has inspired me in so many ways. As an ordained minister, he took on the causes of justice, equality, and service to all outside of the four walls of the church. I leave you with my favorite quote from him: ‘We must learn to live together as brothers or perish together as fools.’”
